Australian beef jerky and biltong producer D.Jays Gourmet has officially launched its D.Jays Gourmet and Truckin’ Good Jerky ranges in over 20 WH Smith travel retail stores, including major airports and selected train stations across the Gold Coast. The move expands the brand’s national footprint and introduces its high-protein, Aussie Beef snacks to thousands of travellers each day.
The partnership began in 2023 when D.Jays Gourmet General Manager Arron Zamel met the WH Smith buying team at the Melbourne C&I Expo. After identifying a growing consumer demand for healthier, protein-rich travel snacks, WH Smith selected D.Jays Gourmet to widen its better-for-you offering.

The hope is that in the near future this range will continue to grow with the addition of the 100gm Truckin’Good Jerky packets to meet consumers desires for longer haul snacks and better value for money offer.
To support the increased production requirements, D.Jays Gourmet has invested in a new high-tech packaging machine that will triple output and streamline fulfilment.
“This investment ensures we can continue delivering exceptional quality while scaling into new retail channels,” said Zamel. “It also supports the private-label packaging services we provide for other jerky brands, a rapidly growing part of our business.”

Arron Zamel has been General Manager of DJays Gourmet since 2015 and under his expert leadership, the company has cemented its reputation as Australia’s leading supplier of packaged jerky and biltong.
His strong family connection to South Africa, his marketing and management degree from Monash University, his technical expertise plus his experience as a successful entrepreneur and import/export business owner made him the ideal candidate for the challenging position.
