I was lucky enough to try D.Jay’s Chilli Jerky and their Medium Pepper Biltong. Coming from a South African family, I know my biltong. It seems like everyone has their preference. Some like it chewy, some like it hard, some like it moist, some like it dry. Somehow, D.Jay’s manages to have something for everyone.
Their Chilli Jerky is the perfect texture, a good bit of give on the tooth but easy to chew. Seasoned perfectly, it has a great bit of heat but not too spicy and goes… perfectly with a cold, full bodied beer.
The Medium Pepper Biltong must be my favourite. Deliciously savoury, it is firm and chewy with that distinctive smokiness you get from real biltong. The pepper isn’t overpowering but makes your mouth water, wanting more.
If you appreciate your biltong or jerky, don’t bother with the processed junk, go D.Jays. You won’t regret it!
